Description: Lybradyn is seeking a motivated individual to join our research and development team as a Molecular Biology Research Associate. Lybradyn is an up-and-coming biotechnology company in the Chicago area focusing on the development of products that integrate molecular biology and microbial fermentation. The successful candidate will work with an experienced interdisciplinary team of researchers under the supervision of a Senior Scientist, developing our DNA purification, protein expression and strain development technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental procedures under supervision of Ph.D. level scientists
- Document experimental objectives, protocols, results and conclusions
- Prepare for project meetings and present experimental results
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment
- Participate in general laboratory maintenance
Qualification Requirements:
- B.S. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry
- Proficient in general Molecular Biology laboratory techniques such as PCR and DNA purification and manipulation
- Detail oriented with excellent problem solving skills
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
