Service Contracts

Lybradyn has developed the resources to meet the challenges of today's discovery and development needs. Our highly experienced scientific staff has the skills needed to engineer DNA tailored to suit client specifications.

Applications range from basic gene expression for biological target development and support of proteomics discovery.

We have experience delivering industrial scale protein expression development for single or multi-enzyme systems. Lybradyn's molecular engineering experience together with our fermentation expertise develops bioprocesses to economically produce small molecule natural products or proteins from genetically engineered systems.

The primary focus of our expression work is performed in Escherichia coli. We understand, however, that many molecular biology solutions require other host organisms. Lybradyn offers expertise in other systems that facilitate the expression of proteins not amenable to expression in E. coli. Lybradyn is continually working to expand our line of expression hosts, providing our customers with the greatest number of alternatives to E. coli.

Hosts

Current:

  • Escherichia coli
  • Bacillus subtilis
  • Geobacillus stearothermophilus
  • Saccharomyces cerevisiae
  • Thermus flavus

In Development:

  • Kluyveromyces lactis
  • Pseudomonas
  • Rhodococcus
  • Flavobacterium
  • Pediococcus

Vectors

  • Moderate-to-high copy number
  • Constitutive and tightly-regulated promoters
  • High segregational stability
  • Scalable
  • Expansion and optimization of internal expression vectors for current hosts
  • Vector development for novel hosts
  • Customized expression vectors for specific client needs

Customized Gene Expression

  • Modify codon usage of the expressed gene
  • Perform directed evolution and select for desired properties
  • Modify host properties to meet client needs
  • Include gene tags or fusion elements for stability, processing or tracking
  • Integrate fermentation with molecular biology for maximum product yields

Lybradyn custom optimizes gene expression, tailored to client specifications and performance expectations. Lybradyn begins by selecting host strains and modifies target genes (when and where appropriate) to enhance expression, purification and physical or enzymatic properties. In addition, hosts can be modified for client-specific needs and proteins delivered to specified purities.
